The MDX-1 allows simple insertion and extraction of embedded AES/EBU digital audio within the SDI digital video signal. All four SDI audio groups are supported.

In Multiplex mode, the MDX-1 detects the two AES3 inputs and displays their associated sampling rates (32, 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz). These AES/EBU signals are automatically sample-rate converted as required, and embedded into the SDI signal.

In Demultiplex mode, the MDX-1 displays audio presence in the four channels of the active group. This audio is extracted and appears at the two AES3 outputs.

Features include AES/EBU mute, SDI audio mute, active group select, 2 SDI outputs, error indicators, 20 or 24 bit audio select, and serial RS-232/RS-422 remote control.
